Paintings have depicted ceramic objects throughout art history, and often laden with symbolisms. These depictions are tools to understand how a material traditionally rooted in craft, ceramics, existed within different historical contexts. I appropriate these paintings and translate them into ceramic sculptures through both traditional clay techniques and digital technologies. My work offers a space to examine the historical role of craft objects and to explore the possibility of craft material in contemporary art and contemporary culture.
